We supply lighting cable assemblies — assemblies and interconnect components — to manufacturers of lighting equipment and, when the project requires it, to professional integrators who need assemblies defined by length, connection and conditions of use. When lengths, connectors, identification and conditions of use are defined from the product, the assembly can be repeated without redesigning it at every installation.
What this industry needs
In lighting equipment the connection assembly works with limited space, temperature and, often, repeated connection and disconnection cycles. The choice of connector and the quality of the crimp determine how many cycles the assembly withstands before it starts to give false contacts.
Industry requirements
Each project requires different criteria. We confirm them with your documentation before quoting, not after.
Common applications
From the internal wiring of a luminaire to the pre-connectorised assembly that repeats identically on every unit of a series.
Connection between the power input, the driver and the lighting module, with the interface and power defined by the equipment manufacturer.
Connections to modules, sensors, control electronics or auxiliary elements, according to the architecture defined by the manufacturer.
When the same part number is fitted on every unit of a series, the assembly is supplied with the length, termination and identification agreed for that configuration.
If the equipment works outdoors or under specific conditions of temperature, humidity, UV radiation or handling, those conditions must be built into the specification of the assembly.
What is what
Not all the cabling of a lighting system serves the same function. It is worth distinguishing the assembly integrated in the equipment, the pre-terminated connections between defined elements and the cable that forms part of the installation.
It forms part of the architecture of the luminaire or lighting equipment: power, driver, modules, sensors or auxiliary elements according to the specification defined by the manufacturer.
Lengths, connectors and terminations can be defined in advance to obtain repeatable assemblies and reduce preparation during integration or installation. The manufacturer makes the assembly and Justicia Marin coordinates its supply according to the agreed configuration.
The cable that forms part of the electrical installation serves a different function from the internal cabling of the equipment and may be subject to specific requirements of the installation, the site and the applicable regulations. When a cable is intended to be permanently incorporated into a construction work, requirements of the European construction products framework and of the relevant specification may apply.

How we work for this industry
The better the assembly is defined, the fewer variables remain open at integration.
Part numbers, lengths, connectors, conditions of use and requirements applicable to the equipment or the application.
We compare cable, connector and termination alternatives that meet the specification defined for the project.
We coordinate manufacturing and supply with the selected manufacturer, with the lengths, terminations and identification agreed. The checks needed are defined for the project and agreed with that manufacturer.
The agreed configuration is used as a reference for later supplies for as long as the part numbers remain available. If one becomes obsolete, a potentially compatible alternative can be studied: the differences are compared and, where appropriate, the customer validates the change. Substitutions are not automatic.
What we actually do in this industry
Justicia Marin is a distributor: we understand the requirement, compare alternatives and coordinate the supply through a network of manufacturers. We have no factory, warehouse or laboratory of our own, and we issue no certifications: certificates are always those of the relevant manufacturer or supplier. The checks needed are defined for the project and agreed with the manufacturer that makes the assembly; when documentation of those checks is required, we coordinate its availability. We do not carry out installation, on-site assembly or lighting design.
The IP rating of a connector or component does not by itself determine the degree of protection of the luminaire or the final system: sealing requirements must be defined for the application and validated on the corresponding product or system. If the manufacturer defines requirements derived from IEC/EN 60598 or another standard applicable to the luminaire, they are incorporated into the specification of the assembly and into the manufacturer selection criteria.
Questions from luminaire manufacturers
Do you make or integrate lighting equipment?
With the specification of the assembly we compare manufacturers that can meet it. Cost, target lead time, availability and documentation are compared afterwards, among those that meet the technical requirements. If you want to prepare your enquiry, in how to request a quote we explain what information is needed.
